Education Kits for secondary and primary schools are available in Chinese and English versions. The Education Kit aims to provide various food waste related information, including an introduction of the eating culture in Hong Kong, the problems of food waste and food waste management strategies. The Education Kit will also explain the causes of food waste in schools, the concept of Green Lunch and the operation of Composter, with a view to helping schools prevent and reduce food waste generation and recycle unavoidable food waste into compost, thereby reducing food waste disposal of at landfills.
The Education Kit also sets out methods of food waste separation, measurement and record, so as to facilitate on-site food waste recycling by teachers and students.
